Before TJ + I had the girls, we went down to San Diego for a Christmas getaway and headed to the Hotel Del for a cocktail. It was beautifully lit up with lights and was abuzz with so many festive activities… particularly the ice skating rink that overlooked the ocean… and we told ourselves that when he had children we would bring them down as a holiday treat. Last year, 9 years after that initial getaway, we made it happen and had such an amazing time, that we opted to go again this season, and it didn’t disappoint. Everything from the ambiance to the hot coco and adult libations by the fire-pit helped to really put us in a holiday mood…

Now it’s back to reality… with one little one heading back for her last week of school before winter break… and the other one having three more days after that… I think we’re all ready for a little break in the routine and schedule that will come in about a week or so….
