It was exactly a year ago that TJ + I sold our small 1080 square foot condo…. we lived there for nine years… and it was bittersweet when we said goodbye. Yet, we knew that we were onto bigger + better things (well, actually we hadn’t actually found another house yet… so it was quite a leap of faith selling before we’d found anything…) and when we saw our house pop up on the market we placed an offer, site unseen….

There were many things that drew us to the property, but one of the major selling points was the large backyard (sans pool, but we figured there was enough room to add one later…). Having had no land living in a condo, the thought of having a backyard space to play and enjoy life was something we were looking forward to….

And while most of our days this past weekend were over at my parent’s pool, we spent each evening unwinding by our fire pit, enjoying the twinkly lights TJ strung over the backyard lawn, and took Sunday to create a little backyard water park for little miss. It was a simple reminder that you don’t have to travel far distances to create lasting memories. Just make the effort to create them where you are!

I’m going to try and coordinate a public spin ride over on Peloton… I’ll be sharing the on demand class over on instagram stories… but my riding name is spulsifer for those who want to ride along! I also saw this super cute mesh tank + these mauve crops and thought they’d be great for a run or spin class… thinking about trying them out.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts Friday (early access)…. I’ve already shopped + picked out my favorite pieces and will have a full roundup on the blog Friday morning. My favorite Free People Teddy Jacket (white one in the first photo) + Madewell Cardigan are both included this season.

My sister and I are heading to Las Vegas Friday afternoon to celebrate her 30th birthday… I’m bringing along this cute two piece shorts set, kitten block heel leopard mules, ruffle bathing suit, and this gauzy white dress. I also have my eye on this gingham cover-up shirt… thinking it would be a great piece to add to my summer wardrobe (even though I think people are starting to think fall….).
