Favorite Summer Wines

Happy Friday friends! We made it to the weekend… which is always worth celebrating in my book. We’re heading off to Palm Springs for a couple of days… plan on sitting in the pool the entire time + just enjoying each other’s company …along with a couple glasses of wine here and there. So, I thought today would be a perfect day to share my favorite summer wines… the focus is on rosé + bubbly (of course), but in the cooler months I can’t wait to share my favorite reds (I actually used to love reds in the summer too… but after my pregnancy with Harper I think my taste buds changed and it took me a long time to get back into the red wine scene….).

I hope you all have a great weekend!
______

And because I’m a sucker for beautiful wine stemware, these gilded rim glasses are my all time favorites!

ROSÉ

JUSTIN: If you ever get the chance to visit this winery in Paso Robles, I highly recommend you go! The vineyard is beautiful, and their wines are amazing. If you love reds, you’ll feel right at home (everyone in my family loves their red wines… especially the Isosceles). No surprise, but their rosé is one of my favorites. It’s fruity, but not sweet, crisp + refreshing. You’ll get apple, white peach, and a strawberry aroma.

MIRAVAL: Straight from Provence and full of peach, citrus, and raspberry notes. You can’t go wrong with this option!

COTES DES ROSES: My sister first introduced me to this rosé and it’s been on regular rotation ever since. If you love pretty little wine bottles, this one won’t disappoint… especially the bottom of it!

BY OTT: This wine was recommended to my by a reader, and it was excellent. It was definitely more full bodied, and for me, a tad sweeter, than some of the other rosés, but still really liked the taste and added it to one of our favorites.

SUMMER WATER: We first tried Summer Water about 3 years ago on a trip to Palm Springs…. and it very quickly became our “summer water.” In many blind taste tests, it has been the winner. It’s light, crisp, and dry with fruity notes, but not sweet. It won’t disappoint.

WHISPERING ANGEL: The winner of all blind taste tests 99% of the time. There is just some refreshing, crisp, and light about Whispering Angel…. the perfect summer wine.

BRANDER: The first wine club we ever joined, Brander is a winery in the Santa Ynez Valley (such a hidden gem…) and their rosé wins out in every. single. blind taste test we do. What sets it apart is that it has a slight effervescence to it. We order this by the case since it’s often only found at the winery.

WHITE WINE

ROMBAUER SAUV BLANC: When I want something other than Rosé or Champagne, then Sauv Blan is my go-to…. and this is the one I reach for. It stays in line with my love of crisp + light wines… not sweet but full of taste + flavor.

BUBBLY

CHANDON ROSÉ: I first had this when I was in Las Vegas with my sister five years ago… and maybe it’s the sentiment of when I had it… but it still remains one of my favorite bottles of bubbly to date, with strawberry + cherry tastes. Not sweet +  reasonably priced.

MUMM NAPA BLANC DE BLANCS: Whenever we get an opportunity to visit Napa, Mumm is always on the list of places to taste… and this is the bubbly that always wins in taste. It’s crisp with notes of apple + citrus flavors.

LA MARCA PROSECCO: Our go-to for mimosas. Enough said.

DOMAINE CARNEROS ROSÉ: Another spectacular spot to taste if you find yourself in the Napa region. This is our favorite. It’s brut, so dry, and not sweet at all. Whenever I see it at our local market I am always sure to pick up a bottle!

VEUVE CLICQUOT BRUT: When we were in Paris (before kiddos) TJ + I took a day trip out to the champagne region and visited Veuve… it was such an amazing experience. Their bubbly is one of our favorite celebratory champagnes.

VEUVE CLICQUOT RICHE: For sure not an every weekend bubbly, but if you’re celebrating something fun and want a festive libation I can’t recommend this (or the Möet Ice) more. Served over ice with some fun garnishing and you have yourself a beverage to sip poolside!

MÖET ICE ROSÉ: See above!
