(The land of Palms for the weekend….)
Well, we managed our first weekend trip away with two kiddos. Was it seamless? No. Were we exhausted at the end of the day? Yes. Would we do it again? For sure…
After six weeks of being relatively homebound… more because of the challenge of getting out of the house with a toddler and newborn than anything else… I was going a little stir crazy. We decided that it was time to jump in and try a weekend away with both girls. We both had our reservations… concerns about logistics… but decided that in the end we needed to “just do it.” To gain confidence, learn as we go, and begin creating memories with our little clan of four.
Palm Springs was everything we’d hoped it would be. Warm Hot. Beautiful. Relaxing A getaway from the hustle + bustle of life at home. Filled with memories.
If you’re contemplating traveling with two kiddos (heck, even one) here are a few tips, and the ways we survived….
1. Lower your expectations + then lower them a little more. You’ll be surprised at how much more enjoyable the trip is when you don’t have a “this is how it should go” mentality attached to it….
2. Be flexible… roll with the punches… divide + conquer.
3. Have a sense of humor… things will go wrong. At the end of the day, when the kiddos are asleep, have a good chuckle about it. I promise it will make the next day that much better….
4. A little wine… beer… a cocktail… helps to take some edge off….
Hope you all have a great week ahead! xx

I ended up purchasing the Adidas Ultraboost Running shoes, after much contemplation, and they are seriously worth every penny. I’ve already completed two runs in them and they are the most comfortable running shoe I’ve ever owned.
Sam Edelman has some of the cutest slides out right now… like this leopard print pair, blush raffia pair, and my favorite embellished slides….
BB Dakota also has adorable pieces for summer… like this ruffle trim top (would be cute with high waisted shorts), lace bomber jacket (identical to my favorite one from last year…), and stripe skirt.
I wore my first Eberjey swimsuit this weekend and loved it… such great quality and the fit was perfect. I also like this stripe suit from their line…
A few super cute rompers I have my eye on include this black utility romper, ivory sleeveless romper, and this all white button front jumpsuit… all great options to get through the summer heat….
TULA launched their new so polished sugar scrub and I’m obsessed… it leaves the skin feeling so soft and radiant… and smells so good. 20% OFF WITH CODE SHANNON20
I just ordered this mauve pullover for cool summer nights and can’t wait to bring it out this coming weekend since the temps will be back to the low 70’s… #JuneGloom. I’m also loving these white sweatpants , white summer thermal (love the front pockets), and these cute drawstring shorts. I also think this ruffled bodysuit is beautiful.
