Fall Style || Keeping The Feet Warm

Last season, I walked into my favorite coffee shop and a guy looked at me and said, “You look like you belong on the East Coast with what you’re wearing.” I looked back and said, “You look like you belong in the desert…” and went on my merry way. I think I was wearing black leggings, a black thermal, a down vest, beanie, and some kind of warm shoes. The weather was hovering around high (high) 50’s, which for any Californian in considered cold (the other morning it was low 60’s and someone told me they comfortably wore a faux fur vest… I’m telling you… that’s frigid). All that to say, weather is an interesting thing for us here in So. Cal. We don’t get snow, unless you’re in the mountain regions, and when it rains, it can be a solid week of storms. Then look out, it’s as if we don’t know what to do with ourselves…. the news stations go crazy, people forget how to drive….

All joking aside, and getting to the real serious issue here…. what to wear on your feet in such a situation… when your sneakers aren’t enough. I’ve always been a huge fan of Sorel boots… loved how they looked in the outdoor settings with cute jeans and oversized sweaters… but they recently came out with a more urban appropriate option and I’m obsessed with: the Kinetic Short Lace Boot. They’re available at Urban Outfitters, one of my favorite spots for unique, on trend pieces… that I wear on a daily basis… like this comfy thermal top, v-neck waffle knit, and suuuuper soft v-neck pullover, and cozy teddy bear jacket (featured today). I can always count on them for helping me stock up my closet each season….

But, back to the boots. I was asked the other day on instagram to give a recommendation for great fall to winter shoes that weren’t a traditional bootie or knee high/OTK boot…. and these short lace boots are them. Incredibly comfortable, insulated + waterproof (to keep your feet dry + warm during those cold fall days, rain storms… or snow…)…. and I love the cute little lace-up detailing. You can easily wear these with regular blue jeans + this cardigan, a bodycon dress (if it’s not too cold yet) paired with the jacket I’m wearing today. Either way you choose to style them, your feet will remain warm and toasty.
