Well, our condo officially went on the market yesterday. I’m a mixture of excitement, apprehension, and a little sad. Excitement for what the future holds for our little family… apprehension because we don’t know exactly where we will be living yet (still in Orange County….), and sadness because of all the memories we’ve had in this wonderful little 1,100 square foot box (see more about that here). All that to say, I’m absolutely praying for a quick sell… because I’m sitting here wondering how in the world we’re going to keep this house “model clean” with our little tornado running around???…

In the spirit of embracing “newness” and new adventures, I decided to do the same with the inseam in my shorts. You all know I’m not about to have my booty hanging out of the back of my shorts (my favorite denim shorts post), but I also don’t really want to look like I’m wearing a pair of TJ’s shorts…. so, I decided to try the “bermuda” cut. Hits just above the knee, it gives a relatively slenderizing fit to the thigh… keeps the booty in place… and is comfortable enough for all day wear… toss on a wedge and a silky cami and you’re ready for a night out…..

I stumbled across this heavily distressed + embellished pair and decided they would be the ones to induct me into the “bermuda” trend… and to be honest, when I first put them on, I stared in the mirror for a while. Not out of vanity, but in that mindset where you’re just not really sure you can pull something off. After I’d convinced myself that I actually did, in fact, like the shorts, I passed them by TJ… who surprisingly, withheld any jokes he probably had on the tip of his tongue and gave then two thumbs up…..

There are lots of different options when it comes to this longer inseam…. you can go with a more fitted pair, like this dark wash, no distressed option… a slightly lighter wash, and slightly looser fit (still no distressing), or a distressed pair without embellishments, a summertime white pair… or a light-wash, slightly distressed pair. Any of them would be perfect for this summer season!
