When TJ + I found out we were going to be having a little girl, we were both ecstatic. Yet at the same time, TJ was apprehensive. Having come from a brother-brother dynamic, he was afraid that he wouldn’t know what to do with a girl… and he wanted to ensure that he was able to be the best father to his daughter. I always thought he’d be an amazing dad to a little girl, but I grabbed him the book “Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters…” anyway…. and he quickly read it cover to end, and still refers to it to this day. All that to say, it was nice to have a day to celebrate the men who constantly commit themselves to their families… and especially TJ who is the spontaneous, silly, optimistic, honest, hardworking, and caring father to our little tornado. And while I know not everyone has a positive relationship with their father, I do hope that everyone was able to celebrate a male figure in their life who represents strength, integrity, and love like I was able to with my dad!

TJ + I finally got back to spin this weekend and it felt so good… it reminded me how important a good playlist is to getting yourself motivated…. so my goal is to compile a new one this coming week….

We’re heading up to San Luis Obispo this weekend for an extended family reunion, and wine tasting is on the agenda, and the weather will be warm. I’ll be bringing along this breezy stripe dress I bought for Hawaii, denim button front dress, and this black romper… I’m also considering bringing this jumpsuit but think it might be a little too warm. I just got these slides, so I’ll be packing them up along with these easy black ones. For the longish drive (4.5 hours) I’ll wear my favorite jumpsuit… wore it en route to Hawaii and it was so comfy! And since the nights cool down, and we’ll just be hanging out at the large house we rented, I’m packing my favorite summer pullover and sage green sweats (we’re a pretty casual family….).

I’m also kinda obsessed with these pearl embellished denim shorts…. they’re sitting in my cart and think they would be so fun for summer…. and the length is a little different too.
