Back To Life, Back To Reality

When the last few days came to an end, I found myself slightly down. After such a few fun filled days, it was sad to see them go. We had a few days without schedules, spent entire days outside (which carried on well into the evenings), and slept in (well, 7:30am is considered sleeping in for us #ParentLife). So, when we went to bed at 9:30pm on Tuesday night, I did so reluctantly… wanting to hold on to the last few hours of the extended weekend.

With the alarm going off at 5:30am this morning though, I surprisingly felt rejuvenated. As the morning progressed, we easily fell back into our morning routines and rituals. By lunchtime, I remarked to my mom how it actually felt good to be back on a schedule. Normal times, normal workouts, normal eating…. and with that, normal dressing…. after spending pretty much everyday in a bathing suit, only changing in the evening, it felt refreshing to put on clothing that I could actually run an errand in…. or go out to lunch wearing….

And while I still keep things minimal on a daily basis, having my go to basics always makes that transition back into the real world easier. You all know that my obsession with these cut-offs borders on unhealthy, but around this time, I start looking for a great utility jacket to take me through the summer and into the fall season. This one naturally caught my eye, with it’s slight distressing and relaxed fit. Its slightly cropped length will make it a perfect layering piece over dresses too.

A few other basics that make the transition a little easier include this distressed oversized tank, distressed sleeveless sweatshirt (obsessed with the blush-ish color), basic white tank, cozy pullover, and comfy slides.
