As we move into the Christmas weekend, I am reminded of how profoundly blessed I am. Simply turning on the news is a reminder of the horror that abounds in so many areas of the world…. and, for that matter, in our own backyard. And, while all of that deeply terrifies me, I can’t help but feel a glimmer of hope when I reflect back on this holiday season with little miss. The innocence… curiosity around the tree and stockings…. staring at Santa with wide eyes…. not understanding that wrapped presents are not a chew toy…. it reminds me of what is good in the world, right under my roof….
Yesterday, I had a comical conversation with my sister about the gifts we might be giving…. when were politely reminded by my dad as to the real reason for the season…. and that, for us, is the birth of Jesus and all that we have been blessed with….
So, as I enter into this weekend and reflect on the past few weeks of the Christmas season, I am thankful for so much…. TJ, little miss, family (including our pup), friends, health…. and the more trivial things in life as well, such as wine and Christmas cookies (insert wink emoji here….)…..
With that, I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas (or, if you don’t celebrate Christmas, a wonderful holiday season) surrounded by those you love, enjoying delicious food + libations, and taking in the merriment of the next few days. See you Monday with fun NYE content!!

On a completely unrelated note, and a little lighter in content, I wore this getup on one of our family visits to the Irvine Park Railroad…. a favorite spot to take little miss this holiday season (she loved it too). I wanted to toss on something casual, yet still pulled together, as I knew we would be going out to lunch after. So, I tossed on this cozy cable knit cardigan… it’s casual enough to meander through the park, and nice enough for a lunch later that day. I opted for flat booties (over my typical tried and true kicks), and this pair is just as comfortable as some of my favorite sneakers. This look was pretty much play-date marries lunch-date…. and when the two get married, this is the baby.
