Favorite Fall Shoes + Colors

blush + camel, itsy bitsy indulgences

When we decided that we were going to be heading to Boston for an extended weekend, I started to pay extra close attention to the weather. Knowing that fall temps likely wouldn’t be hitting Southern California anytime soon, I was placing all my eggs in one basket…. praying Boston would deliver. The weather reports fluctuated from stormy to clear, to raining and in the low 70’s. So, I did what I always do… overpacked (hey, at least I was under the 50lbs limit).`

While the temps weren’t necessarily chilly, they were mild and pleasant enough for a light sweater and closed toe shoes…. pretty much the ideal fall ensemble. I had purchased this blush colored sweater mainly for the cute back detailing, but as I pulled it out on our last evening, I couldn’t help but fall in love with how soft it was. The mules were a new purchase as well, one that I was happy to have brought along with me. I wore them on both of our evenings out…. they were incredibly comfortable and functional…. so much so that I am contemplating getting them in one of the other colors.

Those two days, and nights, of mild Boston temps got me even more excited for fall and the beautiful trends that are out there. I shared my floral and fringe obsession here, and today I thought I would share my love of all things in the blush hue and the fall shoes that are on my radar.

Blush is one of those colors that, for me, is like a neutral… I love it paired with mauves and berries, or olive, camel, and navy. It’s subtle, feminine, and one of my favorite colors for fall. I’m currently loving this open knit chunky sweater (so so pretty), this mixed media long sleeve top. I think this blush cardigan is a classic, and this smocked dress would be adorable with over the knee boots. I also purchased this lightweight tank and can’t wait to layer it under chunky cardigans and leather jackets.

As far as shoes go, I’m loving mules, peep-toe booties, and sneakers. Being that I don’t wear heels as often as I used to, I love all these options for everyday life, yet they can also be dressed up too.

MULES:
I think these studded flat mules are so fun for a fancier occasion, or as a simple way to dress up jeans + a tee. I also think this low heeled mule would be adorable with a pair of skinnies.

PEEP-TOE BOOTIES:
I especially love this trend for fall in Southern California (although, it of course works everywhere). Right now, I love this olive colored option, this beige fringe pair, and these chestnut lace-ups.

SNEAKERS:
So, once reserved for the gym, they’re now pretty much game for anytime, anyplace (well… you know what I mean…). I’m loving the old school nike cortez kicks, good old white adidas, and these grey supergas are an excellent option if you’re not wanting to go as sporty as the other two.
