So, I’m wearing another white shirt. Surprise… but this one is pretty fabulous. It hugs in all the right places, has the cutest little details, and is perfect for a summer to fall transition. Yet, what I wanted to take the time to chat about today is self-confidence. How does this relate to the fact that I am wearing yet another white top? Well, it’s one of the staples that I ultimately end up feeling most confident in.

I’ve always been a firm believer that confidence comes from knowing myself. Knowing what makes me happy, what makes me tick. When I feel confident, I trust my choices and decisions, and am able to acknowledge when I’m wrong (but, I mean, I rarely am… that’s a joke.). I’m not sitting here saying I have all my “you know what” together… or even that I am confident 100% of the time (I don’t think that’s actually possible)… but I do think I’ve learned a thing or two over the years that I hope to pass on to little miss someday.

In my 30 something years of being alive, I’ve realized many things about myself.  I’m an introvert by nature… large crowds drain me, and I tend to kind of shut down (that took me a long time to figure out). I prefer an evening at home, on the couch, in stretchy pants, to an evening out with a large group of people. A handful of close friendships is more meaningful to me than a large group of acquaintances. I feel best when I am well rested, eating clean, and engaging in physical activities that I enjoy (i.e. spin, running…)….

I also know that if I keep my dress simple, I feel my best. I grew up with the message that “the clothes don’t make the person, but the person makes the clothes.” That being said, wearing clothing I feel comfortable in allows my inner self to come through… and that is ultimately what makes it all come together…. and so often that outfit all starts with a simple top, like this one here.
