Pops of Color

It’s a rare occasion when the hubby and I find ourselves in town with a completely free and open weekend. We’re usually out of town or have fun and exciting social commitments that occupy our weekends! Somehow last Saturday night we found ourselves with NOTHING to do (this is something I can typically tolerate on an irregular basis). When that happens, we love to make a dinner date night at one of our favorite spots. For last weekend, we chose one of our favorite Mexican food joints, Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen, in Old Town Orange (can you tell that I LOVE mexican food??). The Mexican food is authentic with a chic vibe, yet completely unpretentious. I’ve never left without a satisfied taste bud.

I love dressing for date nights though. The possibilities are endless. When I was staring at the clothes hanging in my closet I was certain of two things: the scarf and the shoes. There was no negotiating room. Sometimes a scarf, wrapped in a variety of different ways, is the best accessory you can wear! I have an array of scarves and love wearing them throughout the seasons! Back to the outfit…given the bright colors of the two together, I decided to not look like a rainbow, and toss on a white silk blouse (tied in the front… I guess the 80’s style of tying your shirt is back!) and my favorite pair of skinny jeans (I swear they look good on anyone! Even my short legs!). A few fun accessories (again… can’t get enough of my Kendra Scott ring), neutral bag, and some pink lipstick, and I was ready for a night of Don Julio on the rocks, tacos, and good conversation!
