Weekend Recap: The Things I Used To Want

itsy bitsy indulgences {First flight with little miss up to Sonoma}

We headed up to Sonoma this past weekend for a little family getaway… and took Harper on her first plane ride! I was a little nervous (okay, a lot nervous) for how it would go… but we ended up landing, and to our cute little rental, all in one piece (hallelujah!). When we finally got situated (after unloading 5 bags and a trip to Whole Foods), TJ and I treated ourselves to a little champagne and a delicious dinner (sweet potato fries and a little filet), which we bar-b-qued in our backyard. As we were chatting and reflecting that night, we were talking about the progression of life. Mainly about how far we have come in the 6 years that we have been married. We recalled conversations we had with my parents about how we thought we would never be able to buy a house… or when we were trying to have a baby and didn’t know when that would happen… about how badly we wanted those things and questioned if they would ever become a reality. In the midst of the conversation, I was reminded of a quote that I saw recently that said:

“I remember the days I prayed for what I have now.”

It resonated with us. I think so often I get caught up in “moving forward…” that I miss out in really relishing in life’s small accomplishments and blessings. We committed ourselves to being more mindful of these moments… and grateful for them as well. So, as we enter into a new week, that’s my personal challenge. To move slower, to recognize all those answered prayers, and to be grateful for the moment that has been given to me.

 I plan to share more of our travels later this week, but here are a few snippets from our time thus far!

We’ve been indulging, for sure! So, come Wednesday, it’s back to clean eats… which will look something like this meal plan, or this one.

The weather has been so beautiful lately, which has be on sandal fever! I’ve rounded up a few amazing ones here! I love this tassel pair, as well as these (I can’t decide which I like better!)… and bought this pair for our trip! I also love this platform lace-up pair, and these little pink ones too!

I also made a few last minute purchases for this trip, and I’m loving this wrap top (easy access for you nursing moms), floral dress (with the cutest tie in the back), and this denim jumpsuit. I also brought this little dress that I bought last year and still can’t stop wearing. And since my Nordstrom cart is always full a few items that I haven’t yet purchased, but think would be perfect for summer include this little romper (which comes in 4 colors), this striped button up (perfect for anyone nursing!), and this wrap sweater (which I tried on in the store… and reluctantly left behind… I prefer it open with a long dress underneath… like this one here).

And of course I didn’t leave little Harper out! I snagged these little chambray shoes, ruffle bum leggings, ombre chambray dress, and these little ikat bloomers (they are seriously the cutest and softest little things!).
