Beach Cover-ups

IMG_4431

In preparation for the recent trip to Hawaii, both of us went on a quest for the perfect cover-up. Why, you ask? Well, the perfect cover-up can take you from looking chic on the beach to effortlessly putt together at the poolside bar for sunset cocktails (and believe me, this was important!). Essentially, an ideal cover-up should be made with a lightweight fabric that will allow for some breathing room… I mean, you don’t want to be sweating while you’re trying to look cute! I would recommend looking for fabrics such as cotton and a silk-esq polyester. After many hours searching our favorite stores and web-sites we were able to find our favorites, pictured above. We chose to go with bright colors, channeling our inner excitement for the sand, sun, and mai-tais! Chartreuse and Turquoise are perfect colors to express that excitement!  I loved my ultimate find so much that I found a way to wear it out to dinner one evening (hint: I paired it with my cut-off denim shorts, glitter sandals, and a cute clutch).

My hair is always something I can’t figure out when it comes to spending the day on the sand! So, instead of hassling with it, I rat it a little (I know, it’s not the greatest thing I can do for my hair) and toss it up in a top-knot. Allison was blessed with a natural wave, so she was able to simply toss on a fedora for the day!

Pair your cover up with a fun pair of flip-flops and a durable beach bag (to withstand all the sand and salty air) and you’re ready for an effortlessly fabulous look at the beach!

Happy Summer!!
