I am of the belief that clothes, much like scent have powerful ties to memory. Have you ever worn an outfit or a piece on a really special night or a great weekend, and then the next time you look in your closet and see that piece, you are whisked away to that moment? (If not, I am probably sounding crazy) Well, that’s how this dress is for me. I wore it last year in Hawaii (and styled it here) with the family. This particular night we indulged in a very special 60th birthday dinner for dear-old-Dad, with lilikoi spritzers, live Hawaiian music, and a view of the Pacific that was unbeatable. It was also the first time the five us had all been in Hawaii for the first time (a place that, as you know by now, is semi-sacred to our family). On our walk back to our hotel, I remember feeling the wind whip it around, and feeling so peaceful and content. So whenever I choose to wear it, I kind of get a sort of rush when I think about that night and how special it was to our family, which is pretty much what happened wearing it this time around!
