A Timeless Brand + White Booties For Fall

I’m always amazed how so much of life comes in phases. Just the other night TJ + I were congratulating each other, feeling as if we had this whole “parenting two” thing down… and then, boom, Camille is up every 45 minutes until 2:30am and then Harper is up at 3am needing to go to the restroom + get water (yes, I realize those two contradict one another). Needless to say, yesterday I was running on fumes, but I know that “this too shall pass,” we’ll settle into a routine again, and the cycle will repeat itself. Does that ever really end in parenthood? Don’t tell me, I already know the answer….

And while so much of life is a phase, there are certain things that can remain relatively constant + stable. I’ve always been drawn to pieces that feel comfortable on the body + make me feel good… so I’ve always sought after brands + clothing lines that fit this requirement. Over the past several years, Everlane has been a line I’ve turned to for classic basics that can seamlessly be mixed in with old favorites + transition between occasions. Their entire motto is about “radical transparency…” from the price of their clothing to ethical factories. The pieces that I’ve purchased over the years still look, and feel, like new (these day glove flats, this slip dress, and this bodysuit readily come to mind….) so I naturally turn to them season after season for classic basics. I was recently in the market for some new booties + lightweight cashmere sweaters + I knew just where to go. I thought I’d review a few new pieces here today, in case you’re looking for quality pieces that feel good when you wear them….

Cashmere Sweatshirt: If it has the word sweatshirt in it, I’m all over it… and I love the look, and feel, of this cashmere option. It’s incredibly soft (not itchy) and I love the laid back feel it gives to an outfit. I plan on wearing it “off duty” with joggers as well. I sized up one for a looser fit, could have gone up one more size if I wanted it to look a little more oversized. Several beautiful color options + so easy to layer under a vest, leather jacket, or heavier outwear piece.

Ivory Cashmere Sweater: I bought this one for our trip to Park City and love how easily it layers under a warmer outwear piece… plus, I think ivory + white are both crisp and clean for fall + winter. Again, very soft, not itchy, and I went up two sizes and love how it hangs on the body…

Kick Crop Jeans: These jeans will change your world. They were the first pair of jeans I wore post pregnancy (in the lightwash) + I still wear them to this day. They’re high waisted, have a slight stretch to them, and hug in all the right places. I sized up one in the lighter wash + took my regular size in the faded black wash. If you want something more fitted, go with your regular size… if you want it a little looser, size up one. I also cut the hem of both pairs.

Day Booties: I’ve been wanting a pair of white booties since the beginning of the fall season, but felt as if many of the pairs I’d seen out there just didn’t have a “classic” look + feel to them. Enter these booties. Classic, well made (they’re real leather), incredibly soft, and absolutely comfortable enough for all day wear. I sized up a half size, just because I often have a hard time getting my heel into booties, and they fit perfectly. They’re worth the investment.

ReNew Snap Front Liner Jacket: I’d had my eye on this jacket for several weeks…. I was looking for something lightweight for the Southern California “fall” we experience and this jacket fit the bill. It’s super lightweight + made from 100% recycled polyester (pretty cool). I wore it the other morning, when temps were about 58 degrees, and it was perfect! It’s a boxier style, so I recommend sizing down for a more fitted feel (that’s what I did at least)….

And a few other favorites from Everlane for fall include this tie front top (great for a business casual work environment), raglan sweatshirt, and this cotton crop tee

Hope you all have a great Halloween!!
