It’s the most wonderful time of the year….and the busiest!I absolutely love the holidays, but, admittedly, they can be a bit stressful. For me, this time of year typically brings finals, papers and projects, week-long conferences…all that fun stuff. However, this year I’m finding that my time is being filled more and more with more festive, enjoyable activities. Think ugly sweater parties, reunions with old friends…though that isn’t to say that the typical stressors don’t exist (has anyone been to or even seen the malls lately?!) So this weekend, I made extra sure that I was balancing obligations (big psychology conference that lasted all week) with fun, holiday festivities. That’s what life is all about right-balance? Believe it or not, balance IS possible during the holidays!
{The weekend started off on a relaxing note as Shannon indulged in what we therapists call “self-care.” A blow-out at Drybar to get pampered and prepare for a girl’s night out at out Kendra Scott Fashion Island. We teamed up with fellow SoCal bloggers Kathleen of Carrie Bradshaw Lied and Christine of xo Christine Marie to host a fabulous girl’s night out complete with chocolate, champagne, and gorgeous jewelry}
{Shannon and hubby spent the weekend in Vegas for a work party (I already asked if they’re hiring, don’t bother), and spent their free time at The Cosmopolitan Ice Rink (it’s their pool during the summer months) sipping a deliciously enticing winter cocktail! Also, have you seen the water show at the Bellagio?}
{The girls and I ventured out on the town for an ugly sweater party…I think this sweater/vest fits the bill!}
{Got this much-anticipated treasure in the mail on Friday afternoon-definitely going to be making some skinny appetizers for an upcoming pajama party this week!}
{Closed the weekend with an inspiring concert of Christmas music…choirs, handbells, and instrumentals. I literally cannot think of a better way to officially welcome Christmas and remind us of the reason for the season}
On the note of balance, be sure to check out the Women’s Health Fitness Challenge!
After listening to two hours of Christmas music, I’m feeling musical! Take a listen to my favorite Christmas song, and Shannon’s as well!
Have an ugly sweater party coming up? Check this one, and several others out at Target!
If you like Shannon’s mittens, check out a similar pair here. (Her’s are oldies but goodies!)
Hope your holiday plans are shaping up nicely! Only 9 more days until Christmas!!!
