When I did a poll over on instagram the other day asking people if they give Valentine’s Day gifts, 79% said they didn’t…. and most provided an alternative to traditional “gifts.” I also received some super cute responses from people telling me what they have traditionally done with their SO on the day of love. So today I thought I’d share a few simple gifts, all under $100, in case your loved one’s love language is “small gifts,” but I also thought I’d include some of the cute ideas I received from others as well…
“Silly gifts like a magazine, candy, and a flower. But the card is meaningful (I really do love flowers too)”
“What we started doing years ago, and I LOVE, is we buy something special for the house/yard/or do an experience. But I’m not a jewelry girl so I would rather save our pennies and buy a hot tub!”
Someone else mentioned that they’ve been giving gifts “Every year since we started dating! That was 20 years ago! We’ve been married 20 years this past August!”
“We never do gifts, instead we make sure to do dinner out and have a special date night.”
I guess what I took from that is that everyone celebrates the holiday in their own special way… as they should, since every relationship is unique! So, if you’re one of the people who gives/receives gifts for Valentine’s Day, you’ll find just a few small items that I think any woman, man, or toddler would love!
