Casual Holiday Style || A Play With Prints

Amidst the joy of last weekend’s holiday festivities, I had a somber moment when I officially retired the front tuck from all my denim outfits. It’s the one style that I always miss when I’m pregnant (not that I’ve been pregnant that many times)…. and I typically feel it most during the holidays, when I use belts and the front tuck to dress up my outfits….

I tend to keep my outfits relatively simple during the holiday season, and depending on the occasion, I typically rely on one statement piece to pull it all together (no need to look like a present under the Christmas tree…)…. and with the bump this season, I’m relying on prints, metallics, and textures to add a pop here and there. And while we have a handful of dressier occasions this Christmas season, most of our celebratory or festive get togethers will involve toddler activities… like the Christmas Train, visiting Santa, brunch with Santa in San Diego, the boat parade in Newport/Balboa, and other various Christmas events around town…. and you won’t catch me dressed to the nines for those events… but more in my comfy, cozy attire to keep warm….

Sometimes dressing the bump for those sorts of events can be challenging…. so I visited Motherhood Maternity to snag a few items to get me through the holiday season. They have a wide range of great holiday attire items, perfect for the growing belly. If you’re looking for a dress, they have you covered… or a beautiful sweater to pair with leather leggings, they have you covered… you can pretty much find whatever your growing body needs. And let me tell you, these jeans are pretty amazing now that I’ve officially retired the front tuck…. and I snagged this stretchy leopard top (as well as this faux fur accented sweatshirt) as my “holiday casual top” for all those laid back festive events (bonus: it hides spilled hot coco milk from a toddler….).

Some other great pieces that would be beautiful for a holiday get together include this sweater dress, beautiful white embroidered top, festive red blouse, knit sweater (great with jeans or leggings), and this faux fur vest.

Also, you can take 40% off one full price item with code Shannon40!
