It’s that time of year: that awkward, not cold enough for heavy coats, but not warm enough for light clothes kind of weather. I think Fall is such a transition between the cool, light clothes of summer, and the warm, dark clothes of Winter. Even though Southern California doesn’t get a whole lot of variation between seasons, we definitely feel when winter comes (i.e. below 60 degrees). That’s why Shannon and I, along with the gorgeous Chloe, of Nomad en Vogue, decided to choose the vest as the perfect balanced piece for Fall. If you missed our last collaboration, Chloe is a self proclaimed “nomad” (and a quite fashionable one at that!) who has moved several times in her life, and has brought her lovely sense of style everywhere she’s gone. Chloe’s pairing with a plaid top is casual and cute, and the perfect accessory for plaid is that black vest-adding extra warmth and style! She dressed it up with these adorable brown booties and that perfectly sized cross body handbag. So many fabulous juxtapositions of feminine, casual, and chic!
Shannon had a similar idea. She paired a flannel with a faux fur vest with gold accessories. The gold accessories dress up the flannel, and the fur vest adds a healthy dose of fun and flare to the outfit. I LOVE Shannon’s Chevron necklace from Wild Butterfly Boutique-chevron is one of my favorite patterns right now-it’s so trendy and chic. It’s also perfectly simple and is so easily paired with other fantastic pieces like this tassel necklace.
I chose to pair my fuzzy vest with a classic chambray. I love this vest because it’s a neutral color and it goes with almost everything. The chambray is super casual, so these leather pants and [my new favorite] red booties amp up the outfit a couple notches!
