Life is all about balance. It’s a theme we’ve woven into our posts from day one, and it’s just as true to us today as it was when we started 9 months ago. Balance in work/play, balance in eat/indulge, balance in splurge/steal, etc. And we also try to achieve that balance in our outfits! This Fall I’m all about adding a little edge to my wardrobe, since my summer closet mostly looks like the exact opposite of anything edgy. However, I’m not ready (nor am I the type of person who could pull off) the totally edgy, rockstar look…that’s simply not my personality. Which is why I love this beautifully unique leather skirt from Lulu*s.com-it allows me to be edgy while still looking sleek and feeling comfortable. For balance, I paired it with a girly, ultra-feminine sparkly sweater.

Not only is there a balance of edgy and soft, but there’s also a balance of dressed up with dressed down: a leather skirt and sparkly bracelet with a boyfriend-ish sweater?! Talk about a contradiction! But I love the juxtaposition of the different looks.

To add just one more ounce of femininity, and to add a burst of color, I added these fuscia heels to complete the look and make me feel ready to hit the town with the girls (while still feeling comfy!) The leather skirt allows me to do it all!
