When we initially booked our trip to Deer Valley I had grand plans to take gorgeous family photos in the snow. As the weeks went on, and life got busy, the thought vanished… that is, until Thursday evening when I was packing for our trip. A few options ran through my head. First, I went to the computer and frantically typed in “Deer Valley Family Photographer.” There were too many options to go through (which only overwhelmed me more), so I scratched the idea. Plus, in all honesty, I didn’t want to rush around on our trip, and play the “I hope Harper is in a smiley mood” game. So, after a little while, I decided that we would just wing it when we were up there. I packed a few extra options, and away we went.
After arriving, we decided that Sunday would be a day of leisure. No agenda, lounge around the resort, and not do much of anything (sometimes those days are the best). So, when we woke up, we decided that we would try to pull something together for a family photo. I immediately knew the look I was going for. I wanted us all to be in whatever made us comfortable. I’m not a very fancy person, so my favorite jeans and comfy winter white sweater seemed to be perfectly fitting. Natural. Organic. That’s how I typically like our family photos to be… in a fun environment, not forced, and pretty casual….
After lunch, I asked the concierge if she wouldn’t mind trekking up the hill with us to snap a few photos. She happily obliged, and so, our #ChristmasCard photo was born. Stress free. Pretty Casual. I’ll take it.
If you also like casual for your holiday photos, a few other options that I am loving include this metallic knit cold shoulder top, this velvet camisole (in the prettiest berry color), red off the shoulder top, gorgeous red lace up sweater, or this tunic sweater.
