I’ve always loved dressing for the summer. There is an ease that tends to accompany the season. No need for heavy layers, as in the winter months. Simple sandals, a perfect pair of cut-offs, and a fabulous tank can keep you feeling stylish throughout the day. Yet, with each summer season that presents itself, I find myself gravitating towards dresses (which you’ve seen a lot of on here lately). In warm weather they keep me feeling cool (that is, temperature wise) and polished.

In the summer months the social calendar seems to become full, pretty quickly. An open weekend ends up being snatched up by a fun outdoor festivity to take advantage of the longer evenings and beautiful temperatures. That being said, having several dresses on hand that I can grab in a pinch has always been my recipe for summer dressing. Whether it’s a summer BBQ, spur of the moment happy hour for a glass of rosé, or a baby shower thats been planned for weeks, I’ve always found the options at Nordstrom to fit pretty much any occasion. They have so many options with fun prints and colors, stylish silhouettes, and excellent price points for quality items…. and if you’re really wanting to narrow down your search, you can choose from one of the many “occasion” options they offer. Could it get any easier? I snagged this gorgeous neon color shift dress and opted to wear it for a casual lunch date with some friends and their little ones. I opted to wear it with a pair of slides, but for an upcoming baby shower would wear it with these espadrilles (restocked in all sizes!!), or these gorgeous sandals for an evening out. Either way, I’m stocking up on a few dresses for the fun summer months ahead, and you can see some more of my favorites at the end of the post.
