White cowboy boots. Yes, those have to be the first real memory I have of an item I simply had to have. I was going into kindergarten and my mom and I were shopping at Nordstrom for a few items. I promised her I would wear them all the time. I just had to have them. My mom, being the wonderful mother she was, agreed, and so off I went to school, white cowboy boots tucked into hot pink stirrups. Talk about a #fashionstatement.
Fast forward 27 years. On the day of my 12 week ultrasound, I stopped by the mall to pick up a few things, and couldn’t help but swing by the kid’s shoe department at Nordstrom. I decided that the freshly picked moccasins in a rose gold color would be the perfect purchase… in the off chance that the ultrasound would reveal we were having a little girl. The rest is history, right? I was beside myself with excitement… and the shopping immediately began. It was only a natural progression that I would opt to make many of those purchases from the little tike’s department at Nordstrom. I was immediately drawn to the variety of brands, quality of items, and I couldn’t help but feel a bit nostalgic for those days my mom and I spent shopping for clothing items for me. I can only hope, that through the years, Harper and I can establish small traditions such as this… and that someday, she too, will look back with fond memories.
For our most recent Sonoma trip, I couldn’t help put pick up this little embroidered chambray dress for her (because I get a wee bit of a kick matching with her)… and the kicks… well, they were simply irresistible. Tucker & Tate has the cutest items for both a little gal and little man. I seriously love this pineapple bathing suit for our upcoming trip to Hawaii, and have this little blue embroidered dress , polka dot bloomers, and paisley dress in my cart. I have a lot of girlfriends who are pregnant and expecting boys right now, so I am loving this plaid top, striped pair of shorts, sunglasses tee, and black and white striped zip up (soooo cute!!) as potential congratulatory gifts… because, seriously, what better way to welcome a little one into the world than with stylish rags?
