The other day we were out and about. I was doing the usual routine as I get out of the car… stroller out, purse and diaper bag into the bottom compartment, keys in back pocket (for easier access), and car seat out and clipped into the stroller. It has became much more seamless over the past few weeks, but it looked something like a mild train wreck in those first few days (if 60 days counts as a few…). With all the juggling, I was asked why I didn’t just combine my purse with my diaper bag. My response was simply that I didn’t want to (that’s always a good enough of a reason…right??). Yet, as I got to thinking about it I wondered why I hadn’t yet made my diaper bag my “full time” bag.
You see, I’ve owned many of my bags prior to little miss’ arrival into this world. Most of them were special purchases, made to celebrate a success, given as a sentimental gift, or my “souvenir” from a trip abroad. My big tote bag here was a celebratory purchase to commemorate passing my licensing exam… and it has accompanied me on every flight I have taken since (it has more miles on it than my old car did…). I’m not ready, and nor will I ever be ready, to give up those small pieces of my life. Yet, my tote isn’t necessarily baby friendly. When I came across Tote Savvy, I knew I had to give it a chance. It’s pretty much a diaper bag insert that you can organize all the baby essentials in… once that’s done I simply place it in my tote bag and off I go. While I love my diaper bag, for those days when I simply want to leave it behind, this insert is the perfect option… because let’s be honest, a diaper bag doesn’t always complement every outfit… especially one with a cut-out shoulder dress.
