Holiday Festivities

Growing up I looked forward to so many different activities around the holidays. Cookie decorating, Christmas tree trimming, seeing Santa, and all the small festivities that took place with friends and family. Yet the one event I looked most forward to was always my dad’s company Christmas breakfast. It was a time when all the families would come together on Christmas Eve morning and enjoy a relaxed environment to catch up and share in the excitement of the holidays. After, we would head over to the office and finish out the day in dad’s office drawing pictures and writing letters to Santa. It was also a time I was able to first wear the “Christmas outfit” I had picked out for the holiday. It was usually a festive holiday dress, along with a cute new pair of shoes, but I was always so excited to have my mom french braid my hair and toss on that new ensemble. And I guess that much hasn’t changed over the years. I always pick out a few fun and new pieces each holiday season to add a little something extra to my outfits. A little sequin and faux fur are never bad options in my book, especially when paired with an otherwise “neutral” color pallet (aka: all black). The holidays are all about kicking it up a notch, so I say “why not??”
