While I always love a knock out glam ensemble for the holidays, over the years I’ve found that it’s relatively limiting. Kind of a one time, that’s it, type of thing. So over the years I’ve tried to refine my holiday style to be able to move from day to night, casual and dressy. A simple statement piece that can make it all transform for any occasion is what I look for (last year’s holiday looks here, here)… and for the past few years I’ve found those pieces to include plaid and sequins. No, not the sequins of the 80’s (please, never again), but more the subtle glam and eye catching flicker of light that a sequined piece provides.
Given the bump situation this year, I decided that I wanted most of my holiday looks to remain neutral with pieces that grab your attention (like with this faux fur coat). The reason? I would like to avoid looking like an oversized Christmas present. I love today’s look for a celebratory brunch with my girlfriends, or a date night with TJ. If I toss on a pair of leather pants or a black body-con dress, this blazer automatically adds just the perfect touch of holiday glam! Versatility, versatility, versatility…. right?? Right.
