“Playing dress up begins at age five and never really ends.”
When I was younger I would raid my mother’s closet and drawers. She had the prettiest pink silk dress, and I loved putting it on, dancing through the house, and singing “I know you…” from Sleeping Beauty. I was about five. When I grew out of that phase, I discovered my grandmother’s coat closet…. and the mink coat (or two) that was stored in the back. It was my great-grandmother’s, passed down to my grandmother. Now, that was a fun piece to walk around the house in. Fast-forward to high school… years of prom dresses and up-dos (most I would not care to ever revisit)… immediately followed up by sorority formals. Then the big dress up of a woman’s life: the wedding day. I guess I relate to the quote. While we all have our “staple” pieces, sometimes you have to throw in a few unique pieces here and there to add a little something extra to your outfit.
Enter this two-toned faux fur coat. Maybe I was drawn to it because it reminded me of those “dress up days.” Or, maybe it was just the piece I was looking for t0 add a little somethin’ somethin’ extra to my wardrobe. Either way, it’s a perfect little number to wear through the holidays…. and really, is there a better time to toss on a little faux fur than the holiday season?
