As the temperatures begin to stabilize over here in California, so do the pieces that are starting to make it into my steady wardrobe rotation. Slowly the tank tops and lighter sweaters are being packed away, and in come the boots, sweaters, and hats that I have so longed for since August (and then in May, this statement will be in reverse…). I’ve always believed that a woman should have a few key pieces, every season, as her “go-to” for effortless style and grace. For me, those pieces this season are a classic oversized sweater dress, leg defining over the knee boots, and a timeless hat to either cover up a bad hair day, or accentuate an ensemble. When chosen in neutral shades, these pieces help me avoid those “I have nothing to wear” moments that so frequently pop up… and make getting out of the house in an unfazed fashion impossible.
I know I have talked about “dressing the bump” a lot on this blog, but I can’t tell you how much those “go-to” pieces have saved me in the past few weeks. I’m not one who ever likes to look over the top, or as if I spent hours on my look (because in reality, I don’t have time for that), so these classic neutral pieces have been my life savers… and I imagine they will continue to be over the next 8 weeks!
