Not sure if anyone else out there has had this experience, but sometimes, trying clothing on in the store simply isn’t the same as trying it on at home. When I tried this vest on in the store, I had lukewarm feelings about it. I was already wearing two top layers, so when I added the vest to it I wasn’t sure if it made me look too bulky. Yet, I assured myself that I should make the purchase, as I might feel differently about it when I’m able to try it on at home (honestly, some department store mirrors are simply not flattering. At all.). I can hands down say that I couldn’t be happier I did so, as I have only owned this little number for a week and have already worn it three times (that’s when you know it was a winner of a purchase, right?!). I’m also loving the possibilities it provides for this fall (apparently it is supposed to be an el nino year… so I might be able to wear a sweater or two….). Layered over a tunic and leggings, or the perfect topper for a long sleeve maxi dress. Either way, it’s transitional, which makes me like it even more!!
As always, I want to wish everyone the happiest of Fridays. It truly is my favorite day of the week and hope you all have something extra special planned. We’re celebrating Allison’s birthday with a little poolside BBQ, which I can’t wait for! Sitting by the pool sounds absolutely delightful right about now 🙂
