I feel as if Thanksgiving has become more of a weekend celebration, as opposed to a single day. There are turkey bowls, turkey trots, football, and the much anticipated feasting on the day of. Then, there is Black Friday…. more football…. and more eating the day after. Often we pick out our tree this weekend and begin the festive merriment for Christmas. All that to say, there are countless opportunities to get dressed up, or down, over the weekend.
This week I’ll be bringing you three different looks… all of which will be perfect for however you celebrate the holiday weekend. If you’re into comfort, expanding waistlines (turkey…stuffing… pie…. pie… pie….wine…), and looking pulled together, then this one is for you. Here’s how I envision this look coming to life. You wake up, have a relatively indulgent breakfast (because, what’s the point of postponing the inevitable), go for a long walk or quick run (I guess we have to find the balance somewhere), and then decide that pajamas for the day sounds pretty great… but then realize it’s a holiday, so dressing up a little more would be appropriate. That’s where these jogger pants enter the picture. They’re pretty much acceptable dressy sweatpants. I’m not sure I need to say anymore. Toss on a flowy casual thermal top (I own this one in two colors) and some comfortable loafers and you look surprisingly pulled together. I like to add a few gold accessories, like my new favorite choker, to pull it all together.
If this isn’t your look for the Thanksgiving holiday, might I recommend it for a day of Christmas shopping the day after? Or, if you’re like me…. just wear the same thing two days in a row #NoShameThere.
A few other options to replicate this cozy look include these velvet joggers, this satin pair, or this charcoal grey option. Annnnd, if you’re looking for a different top, try this slouchy striped cold shoulder option, or this gorgeous cami (comes in 5 colors).
