Last Thursday, after a long + hot start to the week, temperatures dropped slightly and there was a breezy breeze in the air. I made soup for lunch and comfortably wore jeans (although, those two together weren’t necessarily the best… I mean, it wasn’t that cool out…)… and couldn’t help but feel a tinge of excitement for fall. So, as I packed for our 24 hour jaunt to LA on Saturday, I decide to toss in one of my favorite fall pieces, the utility jacket….
After waking up from a fun evening (a few glasses of champagne if you will), we decided to get an early start (not that we really have a choice with little miss…) and head out to breakfast. It was slightly overcast and in the low 70’s…. yet supposed to warm into the mid 80’s (which typically means high 80’s in weather forecaster terms…). I opted for my go-to jeans, favorite slides, and this flowy white top. I knew the jacket would be the perfect layering piece… it’s lightweight enough so I wouldn’t swelter, yet warm enough in case my iced chai tea latté gave me a chill (unlikely, but hey, I can dream right?). It was the perfect comfortable, laid back look for a quick morning breakfast + tea before heading back home.
Some other great utility jacket options include this slouchy option (love the shape), this one that comes in 3 different colors, and this drawstring option which make sit super cute unzipped. It’s a perfect go-to, casual, everyday piece that should be in every gal’s closet!
