Weekend Recap

By the time Friday rolled around this week, I honestly wasn’t quite sure what day of the week it was! I guess that all comes with the territory of being a new mom though. We had a couple of firsts this weekend including our first family walk on Sunday in Newport Beach, our first successful weekend with significant chunks of time that included sleep, and TJ and I enjoyed our first date night since becoming parents. Yet, don’t get me wrong, we went at 5:30 (I guess we are at senior citizen status here!), were home by 8, and couldn’t believe how exhausted we were. I indulged in sushi and a glass of champagne (#iwaited9months) and actually allowed myself a nap or two. We’re starting to get the hang of it all… from her cries, to her sleep patterns, and navigating our dual role of parents and husband/wife… it’s a journey and we’re definitely on our way! Whatever journey you’re embarking on this week, I hope it’s a good one!

As always, wish us luck this week (insert prayer emoji here!)!

I’ve been looking for breakfast recipes that I can cook ahead and simply re-heat or toss in a bowl in the mornings and remembered this chia seed pudding and delicious berry breakfast bake!

My weekend wish list includes so many perfect transitional pieces. I’m loving this lightweight striped cardigan, this casual backless top (which comes in 4 different colors) for Valentine’s Day, this simple white fringe sweater and this black fringe sweater, and this sleeveless tunic sweater (which comes in 4 different colors). I’ve also been in the market for a new pair of sneakers. Topping the list include these new balances, these classic black and white (or white and gold) nike kicks, and this black/pink pair.

I also couldn’t resist this pink pom beanie and oatmeal beanie for my little miss! I am also loving this little black and white headband.

Congratulations to you both on the birth of Harper, she is beautiful. I am not sure how warm it is where you are now (I am in England) but we have always been advised not to use a blanket/sheet to cover the hood of our prams as the baby can overheat inside as it doesn’t allow the air to circulate. The mosquito style nets are better as they allow air to get in but keep them covered from the sun if not using a baby parasol but it may be different in the US x

Thank you for your information 🙂 Haven’t heard that over here in the US, but will ask the doctor 🙂
