I’ve always loved the anticipation of this weekend. It’s almost as if Halloween kicks off the holiday season. Growing up, Halloween always involved the first of the festive decorations my mom put up. Pumpkins around the house, little ghosts and skeletons strategically placed, and the most perfect fall candles burning in the background. When I was younger it was the excitement of dressing up and trick or treating with Allison and our neighborhood friends. As I grew up, and thought I was mature, it was get togethers at friend’s houses, and in college it involved all the festivities that you can imagine. Beyond all of that though, there are other markers of fall’s arrival for me. I tend to move to darker clothing colors and this year I am loving all things jewel toned. I last wore this dress at my baby shower, but love transitioning it into the cooler months with these pinot colored (think I have something on my mind??) over the knee boots. The color has actually become my latest obsession… like this sweater, suede moto jacket, tote bag, and nail polish (“malaga wine” has been my favorite for the past two seasons).
To kick off the weekend, TJ and I are headed to Carmel for a little rest and relaxation. I’m looking forward to long hikes, a drive out to Big Sur for a picnic, yummy dinners, and crisp fall weather. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend whatever festivities you partake in!
