Distressed Denim

distressed denim, black booties

Distressed denim, black booties, chunky sweater… yeah, it’s nothing new, it’s all been seen here before. I’ve always found that one of the most challenging obstacles in life is making new that which has become old. Think about. Routine, jobs (the 9-5 grind), meals (whose go-t0 meal isn’t chicken, brown rice, and a veggie??), and even clothes. It’s so easy to roll out of bed and go about the normal daily routine. Yet, I’ve always found that too much routine, too much of the same thing, is never good for the soul. Changing “things” up has always been a challenge for me though.

I’ve always just tried to start new. Lately though, I’ve been working on incorporating small changes to create a seemingly different routine, albeit slight. How you ask? Maybe a different snack instead of my go to. Heading to work first thing in the morning instead of working out first… working out after sometimes helps me burn off steam. Ordering out one night a week, instead of feeling like dinner has to be cooked every evening. AND, mixing up pieces already in my closet, to create fun variations. Like this piece here. I’ve worn all these pieces too many times to count, but never together. It was a perfectly comfortable and chic outfit for a day of sipping and perusing around Los Olivos.

  1. Loving this easy winter look! Madewell jeans are the best!

  2. Hey, a uniform is a uniform, and if it’s what you feel comfortable in, it’s what you should wear! 🙂 Hope you two have had a lovely weekend! Xo, Alison
