Detox Diets: Yay or Nay?

If you’re anything like me (and the rest of the population, I believe), sometimes you over indulge. Whether it’s an extra long weekend celebrating, or even just one particularly indulgent meal, sometimes I wish I could just go to a sauna and never eat again! However, since we all know that’s not a realistic option, I’ve sometimes considered doing a “cleanse” or a “detox diet” instead. However, while these definitely sound appealing, when I started doing my research, I got the impression that they may not be as ideal as we think:

So, if you’re feeling over indulged, this is what I’ve found works best for me:

1. Work out extra hard for the next couple days

2. Pack your lunches and snacks in order to avoid continuing the over indulging (I know for me, once I start, it’s hard to stop!)

3. Keep doing your stretches-this will keep your muscles loose and keep them from cramping, especially when you get back to the gym

4. Drink lots of water to flush anything unwanted out, and keep yourself feeling hydrated and full

5. Maintain a good attitude! We’re human-we all over do it sometimes! (And sometimes we deserve to!) So don’t be too hard on yourself.
